Burnt buliding of Trade Unions of Ukraine

to-ma-to

Only a week ago i was at this place, working in press center, helping people, making food…and now it’s all burned down. lots of injured people that were there couldnt go out and all of them died in fire. i saw bodies carried right in front of me. working as press i should be prepared for everything. but this is just so horrible i wasnt able to think straight. i was in shock, then in tears. 80 people dead in general and lots of more injured heavily, most of them will be handicaped for life. but i belive that sacrifice will not be in vain. they died as heroes and wont be forgotten.

I never thought that I would cry for my native country. I’m not particularly patriotic, I do not like politics, large gatherings of people, meetings and inspirational slogans. but I still go to the central street of Kyiv almost every day, doing volunteer work, doing all I can to help. two months of no change for the better, things were getting worse and worse. but when the killings began, catching the protesters in the streets and beating them up…that was the last straw for me. I do not know what to expect next.
