This is quite a big attack on a lot of tumblr accounts that we have all loved and cherished. Not only is this going to cut down a lot of people from being able to expand their blogs, but intensely cut down a lot of freedom that we have on tumblr. God dam-it we should have the fuckin right to reblog and promote whatever we fucking please because without us tumblr’s there would be no fucking tumblr. For starters fuck yahoo and their bullshit decisions. To all those on tumblr, if you want tumblr to continue being the way it is, You NEED to read this you NEED to get angry and you NEED to let them hear your voice. No other way would create a change.

Fuck this shit reblog this and get the word out. This doesn’t just include adult blogs like porn, but if you were to post something political of what’s going on in the world that factors into this bullshit. Yahoo is attempting to create CENSORSHIP. Fuck this corporation. Reblog.

This needs more notes, get the word out guys and gals!

A petition has been started and needs around 8k more signatures in case you feel like voicing your opinion more than just talking on here.

I’ve not been flagged as an nsfw/adult blog since this is my personal and i’d rather it not be covered in inappropriate things since i know a lot of people aren’t down with that (and also since i have a blog specialized for this) but since i have a good amount of eyes that can see this post following me i figured i’d share with the petition. seriously though guys, this is a really dumb thing that’s happened and i really hate that they’re blocking the majority unwillingly that’s actually interested in seeing this stuff rather than making it an option for the minority of people to just not have to see it. not only does it block off information from those that have been flagged improperly (or those that TEACH YOU ABOUT HOW TO DO THE SEX SAFELY WITH TIPS AND SIMPLE GUIDES) but it makes it even harder to find artists and writers who don’t even know they’ve been flagged.

Please spread this like a wildfire guys, yahoo’s stubborn as all else, but the least we can do is to inform everyone!

Something no one has pointed out in this post that I’m trying to spread the word on as much as possible: Blogs flagged NSFW can still post in tags so that followers and people not browsing in “Safe Mode" can see. Blogs flagged Adult cannot post in tags at all, not even for followers or people not browsing in “Safe Mode".

If you have had your blog flagged (…I almost wrote ‘blag flogged’, I think I’m having a bit of aphasia from the sleep dep and migraine yesterday, whee) as Adult, you can often ask Tumblr to reclassify it to NSFW. 

It’s the Adult flag that’s the killer.

NOBODY can even opt in to see “adult" blogs in tags - not your followers, no one. There’s no “unsafe mode". If it seems like your art isn’t getting seen or you’ve been losing a lot of followers lately, look at your settings and check whether this has happened to you.

A lot of stuff ticks me off about this.

1. Yahoos censorship. Who do they think they are to censor a site that is so free and open as Tumblr. That’s just not right

2. NSFW artists are having their work censored and made unavailable for anyone to view. Worse if they’re flagged as adult. You’re lying if you say you don’t enjoy nsfw fanart.

3. The fact that the petition states that porn is bad. How exactly is it bad? Everyone and I mean EVERYONE has seen porn at some point in their life. It’s normal human nature. Is society really that close minded nowadays? wait, don’t answer that.

4. Now I’m not 100% on this one, but if you post political or current events that might get you censored too?

You guys, I give you society and censorship
