This is such bullshit. I am an adult. When I set up my profile, I had the choice to keep safe search on, or turn it off. I chose to turn it off because I enjoy erotica and adult themed artwork.
My problem with this isn’t so much the fact that they are permanently flagging accounts with mature content. I can understand that. My issue is that as adults and users of this social media site, we had a choice in the sort of content we were able to block and we had a choice in the content we were able to search for. Now that choice has been completely removed.
As far as I’m aware, and I could be incorrect, but I thought you had to be of a certain age to even have a Tumblr account? So if everybody on here legally is an adult, why the imposed censorship? We all had a choice. We either keep safe-mode on or off. It’s a choice each person can make.
But instead, I guess instead of treating people like adults capable of making decisions for themselves, Tumblr has decided to throw all of us blogs that feature boobs & penises into a deep dark well where nobody will be able to find us.
Oh… and that blocking of being able to search for #gay, #lesbian, #bisexual… SERIOUSLY? WHAT THE EVERLOVING FUCK, TUMBLR!? What are you even doing right now!?!?!?! I just… I can’t… I can’t even begin to calm down about how ridiculous this is…
