Little blue riding hood went inside. The brothers let her explore the house. She admired their home despite it being a big tree. Everything was made out of wood, the interior was circular. There were no corners, the whole house was a cylinder, all rooms merged into one. The dinner table was round, two stools were tucked underneath it. The fireplace was the only part of the house that was not made out of wood. It had a black cauldron in it and was ready to be used. Their couch curved along with the interior. Two doors, one where they entered and the other lead to a garden. She peeked through the window and saw a few vegetables growing. She giggled. She thought werewolves only ate meat.

A spiral staircase that was attached to the side of the house lead to the second floor where the bed was. The bed was also circular and was covered with fur pelts, probably from the creatures they hunted. It was placed in the middle of the room. Three, curved, bookcases filled with scrolls, books and whatnot. There was only one window and it was closed, the curtains blocked the morning sun but there was enough light going through it to see. She looked back at the bed and wondered why there was only one.

She went downstairs then stopped in her tracks. But she realized that the people who she was with in the room were the brothers but in their human forms. Their tails still swished around and their ears less pointy. Both brothers have already cleaned themselves up. No more blood covering them and wearing new clothes. The youngest brother, Tarrlok, already got the fire place going, his tail wagging back and forth. The oldest, Noatak held some fire wood in his hands. He saw her and his tail started to flail around uncontrollably his lips stretched into a wide grin.

“Korra, there’s a bath waiting for you in the garden.” Tarrlok barked at her softly. She stared at him.

“Garden? You mean outside?” She looked at him, eyes wide in disbelief. She knew she was going to live with them but she didn’t want them to see her naked.

“We don’t have a bathroom, as you can see. The bath tub outside is big enough for one us to fit and we clean it, so don’t worry.” Tarrlok threw wood into the fire place. Noatak handed him the last one then he went to the door that lead to the garden. He turned and signaled her to come with him.

The tub was large and the water was clean. There was a bar of soap and a towel but no spare clothes. She fidgeted in her spot. Noatak watched her.

“There’s no clothes” she gave him a look. She was now uncomfortable, how would she live here? But then again, it’s better than being married to some rich guy who just wants her body. The looks that he gave her disgusted her everytime that man tried to talk to her but she always ignored him.

Noatak took off his clean shirt, revealing his muscular body. He handed her his clothes.

“I’m sorry we don’t have clothes. It was a sudden decision. I’m going to town to buy some things for you. But for the now, wear mine.” She was sure he was blushing but his expression remained calm. She grabbed his clothes.

“Thank you.” She smiled at him. His upper body now blushed at the sight. He coughed for a moment and the left her alone to bathe. She took off her clothes and climbed into the tub. The water was extremely cold. She shivered violently in the tub.

“Did you warm up the bathtub?” Tarrlok turned to his brother who was about to leave. Tarrlok could hear Korra shaking in her bath. He stopped stirring the soup in the cauldron.  Noatak jerked.

“N-no…”

“Great, Noatak. Now she’s going to be sick!”

“We never warm up the tub. And we have no more firewood.”

“Where is she going to sleep?”

Noatak didn’t answer. Tarrlok sighed. “She’ll sleep with us.”

Noatak turned to his brother in horror. He could barely contain himself when she visits him, now she’s spending the night sleeping in the same bed?! With his brother?!

“Wait.”

“I’ll handle things here, Noatak. Just go buy the necessities. We’ll talk later.”

Tarrlok continued to stir the soup. Then went to the table and started chopping some vegetables. Noatak opened his mouth but closed it. He left the house and went to town.

Korra finished taking a bath. Now clean, she emptied the tub by pulling out a plug that was at the bottom. Red water surged out into the ground. She grabbed Noatak’s clothes that were hanging from a clothes line and put it on. There were no bindings available either so she used her arms to wrap herself. She walked down the back of the house and turned to the vegetable patches. There were pumpkins, carrots, cabbages, turnips, onions, and so on.

She entered the house through the garden door. The soup was ready and Tarrlok was spit roasting his third rabbit. There was bread on the table, cheese and a jug of clean water. She shivered vigorously due to the bath she took earlier. Tarrlok noticed this. He took off the cooked rabbit from the fireplace and placed it on a plate. He turned to Korra and embraced her then carried her. She wrapped her hands protectively against her chest. They went to the table and he sat down. He grabbed a knife, a turnip and laid his chopping board and started to cut. Korra was still against his chest and still shivered but she finally stopped after being glued to Tarrlok’s chest.

“What are you doing?” She questioned him.

“Making food. You must be famished.”

“No, I mean, why did you suddenly…?”

“Werewolves share warmth. Is there something wrong with that?”

“I guess not.” She leaned against his chest. He smelt like soap and burnt wood.

“Is that one of the reasons why there is only one bed?”

“Yes. We’ve slept in the same bed ever since we were pups. It’s a cultural thing for us.”

She nodded. She realized she had been up for a long time. Her breathing became deeper and she slept against his chest. He stopped chopping and tilted his head to face her. Her face was peaceful, her arms still wrapped around her chest and he frowned at that. He wanted to see those… No… What was he thinking? She still young and he’s twice her age. He must act like a father figure.

His face turned red and resumed his chopping, trying to think of other things.
