I wish I could say I didn’t care, but part of me does if only for the fact that people don’t treat Snyder like a person anymore. They treat him like a monster who doesn’t deserve any sort of peace in his life simply because they didn’t like his interpretation of the DC characters, and I care that when those of marginalized groups like myself step up to defend our franchise, we are ignored because our defense does not line up with their bogus self righteous reasons for not liking it. I care because people are forgetting how to criticize something without being toxic.
I have said before that in about five to ten years these first few DCEU movies will suddenly be treasured, even amongst those who are having such a fun time trashing them, because that’s how this kind of thing works. Most people who bandwagon hate are the first to jump up and pretend they liked it all along when it is suddenly unacceptable to hate it.
