I stumbled upon this beauty here, and I just — love his facial expressions. It’s obviously not the most flattering of him, but I don’t care? Because taking into account his raised lips and scrunched nose, his narrowed eyes… This is just like a wolf’s snarl. Wolves communicate through facial expressions and small sounds ( and Solas has the facial expression down, but he doesn’t always ‘growl’, he just scoffs and makes sounds of disgust. Though I do headcanon that, on occasion, he will growl if he’s very angry. HELLO NEMO IS A SUPPORTER OF THE IDEA THAT ELVES HAVE SHARP CANINES AND EXPRESSIVE EARS ). Anyway, I really love Solas’s facial expression. I do think that, in Uthenera, he spent most of his time in the form of a wolf. It was probably easier. It’s why the Dalish most likely cursed him 90% of the time; and when he DID approach them as his normal-self, they came up with: beware; the Dread Wolf comes in many forms, like a harmless wanderer. There’s also the pattern in which Solas’ walks in his cut scenes, with one foot forward and the other right behind the other, in a line, like a wolf.
