There was no white savior trope/the leads were poc and the woman in charge was a dark skin woc
SSkwad broke a never before seen record in moviegoers for CBMs as calculated by Rotten Tomatoes their selves. More women and poc- namely the African American and Latino community made up the Suicide Squad audience which helped boost its numbers in grossing:
(currently at 744million USD and counting and this is without China’s Box office)
Also Justice League is coming out before Captain Marvel
on top of that, this female superhero show- Supergirl will have existed 3 years before Captain Marvel’s movie and is still running successfully. ft interracial pairings, deals with themes of xenophobia, racism,etc

ya know- the original iconic legendary Wonder Woman- JUST appeared on Supergirl as a female president, whose character will most likely be further explored on the show.
The Wonder Woman movie which is coming out before Captain Marvel
has a cast and plot that not only features gender role reversal but older
women in strong iconic roles and Diana’s closest Amazons will be
portrayed by a diverse set of women in not only ethnicity but body type
as well diversity as well. This doesn’t include the Asian and Latin women who have been confirmed Amazons as well.
Gal Gadot can’t even buy a Wonder Woman costume for her own daughter because they’re sold out everywhere. I don’t see anyone buying Captain Marvel anything or even talking about Captain Marvel. Stop. Every day on the news I keep hearing how Harley Quinn’s Suicide Squad costume is the top selling costume everywhere, how parents do know what to do because their kids wanna be Wonder Woman and Harley Quinn and how ppl won’t even buy anything else but Suicide Squad and Batman v Superman costumes….
The
DC TV verse also feature central interracial relationships in all their
superhero shows ft superheroes who are poc and women/girls/mothers/disabled ppl who are superheroes- is
that not a huge step forward in diversity?
On top of that, how did the MCU’s very own Luke Cage or even Agents of SHIELD when those two shows have more POC than the MCU have in their entire 8 years of existence + nearly 20 films combined get ignored in this whole equation? Um….
That struck a tear. That’s hilarious to me. I mean critics called Suicide Squad racist because the poc were poc and said “diversity doesn’t make it a good film” yet these same people are writing these same articles basically praising Marvel’s….whiteness.
In what world does whitewashing, middle-aged/old white people, and white people in roles = a new age of diversity” How?
