the-odd-oddish

Pink is me, red is a M.arvel stan.

I don’t usually comment on my saltiness for M.CU in public because I understand that a lot of people love these movies, good for them, just because I’m growing bitter doesn’t mean I should take away other people’s enjoyment.

I mostly just indulge in ranting on my private twitter or go through different tags looking for people who share my sentiments.

But this comment was posted on the facebook post sharing this article reporting Margot Robbie producing the Harley Quinn led movie.

So basically, M.arvel stans who can’t freaking stay in their lane and not step on DC just to feel better about their own franchise.

The whole ‘DC is playing catch up’ accusation is growing really old, if they do it too slowly they’re lagging behind, if they’re moving forward swiftly they’re playing catch up.

I wouldn’t be so salty on this subject if M.arvel fans are actually objective and fair in their criticism, instead of conveniently taking the parts that are to their advantage while acting like Marvel never stumbled or shuffled their schedule around every few months.

I admit I am biased towards DC at this point, but I am also willing to admit that DCEU isn’t perfect and they have stumbled along the way (eg BvS ultimate cut should have been the one released in cinema, Suicide Squad’s cutting being choppy, Enchantress was a pretty flat villain).

But M.arvel stans are acting like their own franchise have done nothing wrong ever, that the cookie cutter popcorn flicks are cinematic masterpieces to be worshipped centuries from now.

One of the most ridiculous accusation I’ve seen being thrown at DCEU is that those of us who enjoyed it are just eating up any bullshit thrown at us, and we are causing the failure of DCEU because we allow them to suck.

They don’t realise how easy I could just change DCEU to M.CU and that accusation can be shoved right back at them.

I was a M.CU fan, maybe still am in some aspects, but the fandom had again and again made me saltier and saltier.

The DCEU positivity tag is like a support group for me to clense my soul everytime I see irrational unreasonable DC hate, and I appreciate everyone who had defended DCEU with clear thoughtout well written posts, you guys give me hope for the superhero genre.

If you disagree, go ahead and pen down your thoughts, I welcome discussions.
