Her comments were, of course, all in good fun—as she told Vanity Fair in an interview, Davis was actually impressed by the rigor Leto’s method antics required. If anything, it only motivated her to work harder: “Oh shit, I’ve got to have my stuff together,” Davis recalled thinking. “You talk about commitment!”

The E! News article containing the directly sourced quotes leads to a dead link, but there are lots of direct quotes taken from the interview all over the other media outlets that covered it and she’s said she recieved bullets and that everyone got “gifts.”

It’s not an E! News article it’s vanity fair. And yeah but we know that most of these are fake and were lies just for publicity, most of the cast did receive gifts but most of the gifts were made up.
