Honestly you can’t complain about mainstream media if your only news source is Tumblr. Before getting mad because YOU just find out that something terrible happened in another part of the world you should ask yourself: do I watch the news? Do I read newspapers? Do I check the news feed on multiple social media?
The discussion about media bias and about empathy or lack there of for non western countries is fundamental, but there’s now way we can start that conversation if you don’t even bother to inform yourself on current events.
