Amber Heard is set to play Mera in the upcoming Aquaman movie, and she’s done something incredibly brave.

She’s come forward about her abuser.

She’s filed, and been granted, a 100 day domestic violence restraining order against Johnny Depp, and she’s telling the story of his abuse towards her. She came to court with a black eye, from an incident with Johnny where he threw a phone at her.

What Amber is doing is incredibly brave, and I hope the DC fam would rally with her and show support. This isn’t about trending on twitter - but about showing that we as a community welcome Amber and have nothing but respect for her.

I can only imagine the scrutiny she will face. People have been questioning everything from her age to her sexuality.

We value heroes, and Amber has done something heroic. But we should make like heroes and support someone who is doing something brave, and right.
