DC giving us at least 2 female led movies in the time Marvel makes empty promises about one and keeps delaying the other
Okay but who has 2 officially confirmed female led movies coming within the next 3 years and a movie with 90% black actors ? I’ll give you a hint: it’s Marvel.
Oh boy.
Yes, it’s really nice to see that after 10 years of existence the MCU finally tries to get their shit together and gives us a Captain Marvel movie (which they already pushed back to make an Ant-Man Sequel nobody asked for, but whatever, right?) Also there is no confirmation for a Black Widow movie whatsoever, only Kevin Feige’s yearly statement of ‘we really want to make one’ but he’s been saying that for too long now to take him seriously.
Meanwhile Wonder Woman is coming out next year, being only the fourth movie in the whole DCEU, and stars kick ass women of many races as the Amazons and has a female director as well. And now there’s been an announcement for an all female led movie starring Harley Quinn, possibly Batgirl and many others, and quite frankly, the MCU doesn’t even have enough women in it to do something like that.
I’ll give you Black Panther, I’m extremely excited for that movie, but again, it’s been ten years and Marvel is only now realizing that they have to step it up diversity wise to stay in the game. Suicide Squad is coming out this summer already and is more diverse than the entire MCU so far.
Also, get that gross gif off my post, Harley is a canonically jewish character and I’d very much appreciate if you didn’t connect her to a fucking Nazi slogan, thanks a lot.
