I want to say something that I think is completely and utterly unfair: 2 years ago, Jared Leto’s dedication to his roles was something people praised about him, today after a full-time commitment to one of the most challenging roles in his career he’s being called all sort of names you can think of, including a rapist and some people even want to see him dead, yes, DEAD. His approach to the role was peculiar, we all have read about the alleged gifts he sent to the cast but nobody talks about how this guy committed full-time to understand his character, he went to a mental institution to further understand psychopaths, what they went through to get to that state of mind and even how they behave, just to get his performance right.
You can like or not his at times stupid sense of humor (I love it tbh), but some of you are taking this “hate” out of proportion, and just because of a character, do you realize that? Because honestly I don’t think you do. Everything started because of a FICTIONAL CHARACTER. Yes, it is one of DC’s biggest villains ever and knowing that from the get-go, Jared worked his ass off to make the character justice and yet you’re complaining??? Again, you can disagree with his sense of humor, because it’s not everyone’s cup of tea, or his characterization as The Joker, or his tattoos, or his approach to the character or you can simply do not like him – that’s fine, but that doesn’t justify all this hatred coming his way.
I’m not asking you to love him, honestly I don’t care about that but just a little respect. It’s NOT okay to wish someone to die or to overdose (really?) just because you don’t like him or his work. I know it’s “trendy” now to hate him on tumblr so I know you won’t stop but ANYWAYS chill out.
Okay, that is all. Oh and dear people who loves and defends Jared: you are the greatest, keep on doing what you do *virtual hug*
