old-archetypes

why do all you people, and I mean the fandom AND the new writers, insist on bringing out Harley’s good side like she’s some kind of saint? I love Harley precisely because she’s a sly fucker who wanted to make money writing best-sellers out of her patients’ mental illness. She was an opportunist who desperately desired a life of glamour, and going with the Joker, besides an entire world of pain and abuse, gave her exactly that: she was finally in the limelight, outside the ordinary, going down in history. That was pretty much clear since the start in her characterization??? So why is everyone and their cousin pretending she was the Good Doctor TM or that she gives a shit about people ouside her inner circle? Harley used to be funny and cunning before being squeezed into the role of another boring antihero that has nothing to do with her characterization. If DC wants so badly to prove they can write what they believe to be “”””empowered women””””, what about trying show that women can be manipulative and ambitious too? That they can be horrible and selfish? I just don’t get it.

Shut up. Harley was a good doctor and she earned the right to be called a doctor. She didn’t desire that life style or “glamour” she became who she became out of love for the joker and that’s what great about her she fell in love and she deals with it. Her character before all the anti hero stuff she was just the jokers side kick over time like the new 52, they gave her a purpose to be something bigger like being in the suicide squad a road to redemption. Where she’s portrayed as a wild card, underestimated but the most valuable member on the squad with genius level intellect, still is crazy but there so much more to her character now. DC show “empowered women” by letting them have the choice to stray away to bigger water and become something greater. The Choice to be a villain or to be an anti hero. There’s nothing wrong with her now just stop.

@daddyslittlemonsterharley Im laughing so hard right now. Really. Harley was a good doctor? She was a doctor five minuted and in those five minutes she helped the joker escape multiple times+an innocent patient of her stayed in Arkham when she did nothing wrong just because Harley was too busy daydreaming about the Joker to pay attention to her. She wanted to sell books about her patients to become famous and rich, she had sex with her teachers to get good grades! She wasn’t just the Joker’s side kick, she was the girlfriend of the most dangerous criminal in Gotham, the only one who ever come close to him. Thats made her the second most dangerous person in Gotham. They were a team, and she loved it. She had power and money, she hated her boring life and the Joker gave her excitement. Oh, and every time she was without him she kept thinking about him and wanted to come back to him. New 52 didnt gave her a purpose, she had one already. She had the world in the palm of her hand, she fought Batman! She rubbed banks! She met Ivy! Why the hell she would want to be an anti hero? She chose to be the villain. She chose to be Harley Quinn. She doesn’t give a fuck about other people then ivy, her hyenas and Joker. Maybe some other crazy villains. Now, go read some comic books.
