kylo ren is legitimately so desperate to stay on the dark side he is willing to pound on his own wounds to manually create pain because pain = hate = dark side
i repeat: he is so close to the light that he needs to hit himself repeatedly to draw from the dark because he can’t find it within himself anymore
this redemption arc will be epic
