there is nothing wrong with people saying they like the new netflix baby Jessica Jones.

- a female hero
- not the “ungf, me so pretty and perf and my plot is kinda illogical without my male sidekick/love interest” female hero
- Jessica Jones is an alcoholic with PTSD
- it’s ugly and dark and shady
- NOT a family show
but – and this is important – Zebediah Killgrave is NOT a purple version of Loki. he’s NOT misunderstood. he’s NOT the “tragic villian”. he’s NOT the “nice guy in disguise”. he IS a rapist.
- he takes pleasure in torturing people
- he rapes people
- he’s a stalker
- he’s violent
- he forces people to enjoy the rape
- he forces people to kill and/or to kill themselves/their loved ones
there is nothing wrong with being fascinated by that. mind control is interesting and so is hypnotism. there is nothing wrong with being interested in him, because he IS a well-written monster.
- it’s WRONG to romanticize him
- it’s WRONG to humanize him
- it’s WRONG to justify his actions
- it’s WRONG to ship him with Jessica, your OC (aka yourself) or any other character (rose tyler for fucks sake, you sick people)
Zebediah Killgrave is intelligent, charming and – if you’re into David Tennant – good looking. but that’s the point. he’s a good looking man – and a rapist. he’s a charming man – killing other people. he’s an intelligent man – controlling other people. there is nothing wrong with fangirling over Marvel’s Jessica Jones. but please be aware: it’s a dark show. it’s a violent show and it’s triggering.
