BREAKING: Several killed in series of attacks in Paris
11/13 4:55 PM ET — French police said at least 18 people were killed in a possible series of attacks in Paris, including a shooting at a restaurant in the city Friday night.
The shooting, reportedly at the Le Petit Cambodge restaurant in the city’s 11th district, occurred at the same time reports of an explosion at a bar near Stade de France surfaced. Another shooting erupted a few minutes later near the Bataclan club. This is a developing story.
UPDATE 5:05 PM ET — At least 26 are being reported dead by the AP.
According to the Agence France-Presse, hostages were taken at Bataclan concert hall near the restaurant where the shooting occurred. Around 60 people were said to be in the concert hall.
An explosion could be heard clearly at a bar near Stade de France during the soccer match between France and Germany.
UPDATE 5:27 PM ET: The AP is now reporting there are up to 100 hostages in the Bataclan concert hall and 35-40 dead. This is a developing story.
UPDATE 6:00 PM ET: French President Hollande has declared a state of emergency for all of France and closed the nation’s borders. As many as 60 people many now be dead. More as the story develops.
UPDATE 6:37 PM ET: AFP is reporting that police have stormed the concert hall where hostages were being held.
Terrorists have taken dozens of people hostage at the Bataclan concert hall in Paris amid a series of attacks in the city Friday. Several ambulances and law enforcement were seen outside the theater, where American rock band Eagles of Death Metal was playing, according to the BBC.
At least six to eight armed men stormed the Bataclan theater Friday night and were “going through the concert venue looking for people who might be hiding,” according to eyewitnesses who spoke with CNN.
