Wonder Woman: I have to admit I have some difficulties to understand why you never killed that clown.. Not that I blame you for sticking to your principles or anything, no, but he hurt you so badly and so many times that I really wonder how you never gave in to the desire of seeing him drop dead.

Batman: No, that's not the problem... *sighs* I saw my parents getting killed. It fucked me up and I acknowledge it. Witnessing the death of someone is already enough of a traumatic experience as it is but causing someone's death is even more horrifying. Besides, this is some sort of an unspoken rule between the rogues and I... I don't kill them, they don't kill me. We can always try or pretend to try though but in the end, we all know that we all have a part to play in this sick, sick, sick game we call existence.

Batman: also, have you ever tried to kill someone who can survive a bath of acide, an explosion, a car crash, a zeppelin crash and a bullet to the heart? This guy is worse than a fucking beetle. Kill him once, he'll come back twice, stronger and more dangerous than before.
