I don’t think Joker would. I don’t think he has the interest, or the need to. But if he did, Harley would tear him apart. The reason Harley puts up with all Joker’s bullshit is because she has to if she wants to be with him. And because she does, she gets to be by his side, she gets to be his girlfriend, she gets to be a part of his life. But if he cheated on her, if he chose someone else, if he replaced her, that’s where she’s had it. She does everything she does for him on the proviso that she gets what she wants from the relationship. But when she feels she isn’t being treated fairly, that’s when she’ll retaliate. And him cheating on her is definitely not treating her fairly. She will beat him, she’ll kill whoever he cheated on her with, she’ll demand an apology, and she won’t do anything for him until she thinks he’s learnt his lesson. And of course this will come up in future arguments. And Joker will comply to her. I think there is an unspoken truth between Harley and Joker that they are both aware of. Harley is dangerous. She can take Joker any day, she is smarter than he is in certain aspects, and she won’t put up with something she doesn’t want to. The reason Joker treats Harley like he does is because he knows he can. He knows Harley puts up with his shit because she loves him. He knows that just being by his side is enough to satiate Harley. He’s knows her love for him is the only thing keeping her at bay. It’s the only thing stopping her from destroying him. But she does have a breaking point. And that breaking point is when she knows she is being treated unfairly in the relationship. I think Joker knows Harley’s breaking point, but he teeters on it sometimes for whatever reasons, and he knows the consequences.
