I watched this movie this past weekend. Don’t read if you do not like spoilers…….
Let me tell you 10 13 16 things
- Colin Firth in suits as James Bond light….
- Gazelle
- Colin Firth in suits, VERY good suits, very very well tailored suits, with a tailor backdrop
- The quotes..
- Samuel L Jackson - with a lisp, as a billionaire, dressed in hip-hop and crazy (but is he crazy?)
- Mark Strong in suits
- Michael Caine
- Taron Egerton - I need to get to know him better and closely - in a suit
- It is James Bond light, with better humor, way more relate-able, same cool gadgets and Mark Strong’s voice
- British humor, executed so well (my Canadian friend didn’t think it THAT funny but then again not everyone is for British humor, you have to be good)
- It is actually a movie commentary on the environment, population, technology and power/elite decisions. It is probably happening actually, but most do not see. It will be taken as entertainment, I wish people would enjoy it but actually think critically on the real underlying theme in this movie
- One of the best product placements I’ve seen in a while… completely unexpected and made entirely part of this spy story, given an entire scene. A brand I worked for before for 2 years in my advertising world. I left wondering if it was the writers who had that first, or if it was an ad agency that got that in there….
- Oh yeah, and I don’t mean its a cool spy car, given its a spy movie or a gadget..
- Best ever representation of turning a disability in to the best kickass, sexy character, female too without ever even showing her skin to make her sexy and cool
- there is a joke about popping the cherry in a dressing room LOL
- there is a single scene of nudity that’s on screen for all of .005 seconds. It was completely unnecessary, unneeded moment… that a long with a comment/joke that went a long with it…
The quotes
"Manners Maketh A Man"
Galahad: “Huge IQ, great performance at school, but your gave up. Drugs, petty crime and never had a job. It set you on a certain path but you needn’t stay on it.”
Eggsy: “Who are you?”
Galahad: “The man who got you released.”
Eggsy: “I’ve never met a tailor before, but I know you ain’t one.”
Galahad: “Come with me. What do you see? I see a young man with potential. Pull the hook on your left.”
Eggsy: “Oh, yes, very nice! What does this do, electrocute you?”
Galahad: “Don’t be ridiculous. It’s a hand grenade.”
Eggsy: “Shut up! That is sick!”
Valentine: “Mankind is the virus and I’m the cure.”
Gazelle: “Mass genocide?”
Valentine: “I like it.”
Gazelle…. lets all drink to her kick ass being…. She was such a delight to watch.

Colin Firth:

This guy, transforming in his suit wanted me to jump into the screen and kiss him. He was so cute and fun and then cool. In a SUIT.

Samuel L Jackson, he was a hoot! And his lisp had me laughing all through.

Easy fun, some places could have been edited better (they left some moments too long) otherwise great mindless fun.
I hope the do Kingsman 2 with Taron Egerton & Mark Strong coming back to it.
See it.
