Disney: “Meet Disney’s first Latino Princess! Elena of Avalor" (Source)
Me: “Where have I seen that design before……It’s a bit different but I know I’ve seen something like it…….Oh wait! Maria from The Book of Life! That’s where……Wait."
OK. I understand that their designs are a bit different and that Elena looks a lot more like a princess, but you can’t really doubt the similarities to Maria from The Book of Life.
I welcome the fact that Disney is finally starting to progressively move forward with adding a Latino princess, It’s just that the striking resemblance to Maria is throwing me off to the point where I’m just like: “…..Did they almost copy Maria from The Book of Life?" The only thing that is outstandingly different is that Maria is significantly older than Elena if not by a few years.
Take this post as you will, I’m just bringing out an observation for you all to see and talk about.
