1st appearance of The Joker in DC Rebirth [UPDATE: This is NOT the Joker. Please read the EDIT]

From today’s “Harley Quinn” #9 issue (writers: Amanda Conner & Jimmy Palmiotti, pencilers Brandon Peterson & Michael Kaluta)

[EDIT] Feb 1st 2017: As it is later revealed in ”Harley Quinn” #13, this is NOT the Joker, but an impostor called Edwin, a seriously disturbed individual who got obsessed with her a while back. In this issue, Edwin explains in detail that he managed to get in touch with Joker and when he told the clown about his adoration for Harley and that he wanted to get close to her, Joker did everything in his power to help him: He gave him suggestions and advice on how to approach her, he even started sending Harley personal Joker-mementos to “warm her up” to the idea of him re-entering her life. Joker also gave Edwin a hideout to stay, with all the info he needed about Harley, and helped him become “the Joker” -both physically and mentally- by supplying him with very detailed personal information so that he could manage to look, act and sound like him. Joker also provided all the doctors needed for the numerous surgeries, paid for everything, even told Edwin the location of the chemicals that bleached his skin.

And all this just so that Joker can use with him and have a laugh by messing with Harley and hurting her feelings as Harley herself says below:

“Kinder gentler Joker who loves Harley comes back to her with flowers and a ring”? Lol, no. At least this story arc makes sense now.
