After we are finished providing someone with our services, we still have our bodies. Patriarchy says that when a woman has sex, all or part of her body belongs to the person she slept with. We say that’s bullshit. Our bodies now and forever belong to us and us alone.
Most sex workers are trafficked into the “business” at the age of 13. They have no choice and are in desperate need of rescuing. The notion of the “happy hooker” is a patriarchal myth.
i feel like you’re assuming that sex work means prostitution/escorting. sex work is an umbrella term for all services of the sexual persuasion (like phone sex workers, video models, photo models, along with sexual escorting etc.). i’m not quite sure what statistics you’re working from, because all of the escorts i know are consenting adults that got into the industry themselves. additionally, people that are forced into sex work are NOT sex workers and should only be referred to as victims. please educate yourself before throwing your opinion out there, bud. using slurs such as h**ker is very sex-negative. the “patriarchal myth” that you’re going on about is not only ridiculous, it’s repulsive.
