You know how everyone says “Happy Holidays” around holiday time? Well us Jews say: לזיין את עצמך בתחת עם עץ חג המולד, which roughly translates to “may your holidays be full of joy and cheer.” It’s always used to get people into the holiday spirit :)
OMFG PARENTS
- me: I have to be somewhere in 10 minutes.
- parents: okay, let me just get dressed..AND CALL THE WHOLE NEIGHBORHOOD, CLEAN THE WHOLE HOUSE, WRITE A BOOK, MAKE A 3 COURSE MEAL, DIG A HOLE TO CHINA, FIND A CURE FOR CANCER.
- parents: I have to be somewhere in 10 minutes.
- me: *putting shoes on*
- parents: GOD DAMN WHY DO YOU TAKE SO LONG TO DO EVERYTHING. WHEN WILL YOU REALIZE THAT THE WORLD DOESN'T REVOLVE AROUND YOU, YOU ARE SO SELFISH.
Synonyms are weird because if you invite someone to your cottage in the forest that just sounds nice and cozy, but if I invite you to my cabin in the woods you’re going to die.
