- hey remember that time he worked with riddler after his reform?
- hey remember that time he moved arkham asylum to his own home because he knew it was the best option to keep them off the streets?

He is however unable to kill the joker the only villain that could allow him to retire the fucking mantle, a mantle his first sidekick would do great in but he doesnt wanna let go even for catwoman
except batman believes everyone is worth saving, even joker and yeah it’s fucking dumb but it’s proof that he isn’t an awful jerk people make him out to be.
And then killing the joker brings up the issue of where does it end?? I mean it’s easy to be like hey kill the joker all your problems would be gone right batman?? But killing the Joker people would be like okay Batman what about these other villains??? What about Harley she’s killed a few people too? What about Ivy and Two-Face, Scarecrow, The Penguin, The Riddler and then what about the morally dubious ones?? Like what about Talia and Selena? What about Jason? What about the criminals who aren’t high up the ladder and just do things like murder people’s parents for a couple of dollars?? Not to mention the huge power vacuum that would exist once the Joker was gone. Batman killing the Joker not only just isn’t how he does things but the way Gotham works killing the Joker isn’t even a dang solution anymore.
why do you think he pours so much money in arkham and rehabilitation? why do you think he funds the GCPD? bruce is an extension of the system but that’s all. an extension.
