Marvel: Announces Civil War in what is supposed to be a third standalone Captain America movie, releases plot summary that further shows that this is not Captain America’s movie
Marvel: Puts out schedule for releases, finally includes movies that don’t have white male lead
Marvel: Obtain rights to Spiderman, pushing back Captain Marvel and Black Panther and keeping Spiderman a white guy
Marvel: Announces another schedule changeup, includes Ant-Man sequel and although they push up the Black Panther date, they push back Captain Marvel even further. Still no actress announced, no director, nothing.
Marvel: Still no Black Widow movie despite fans wanting one, major female MCU characters are largely ignored in merchandaising/marketing despite calls for them from their own actors(Mark Ruffalo) and fans, and gives The Wasp second billing in Ant-Man sequel while pretending this makes the movie female led
Marvel fans: *Sighs*
DC: Anounnces movie lineup, will have at least 4 movies that don’t have WM lead. Despite accusations of overusing him, Batman doesn’t have a solo movie coming for at least three years with nothing confirmed. Only one sequel planned
DC: Will have the most racially diverse CBM in history with Suicide Squad, the third movie
DC: Says Wonder Woman won’t be ignored in merchandising and is keeping their word
DC: Wonder Woman movie is expected to start production next month with female director and mostly female crew
