The internet is such a toxic and cynical place it’s beyond annoying.

The Suicide Squad trailer came out and it was heavily praised for about 48 hours until the cynicism set.

Now the entire narrative is trying to be changed to how over the top, faux edgy it is and i’m just like wat.

The internet doesn’t allow for mindless fun, comic fans seriously think Guardians of the Galaxy invented the use of pop music with quirky comedy in their trailers

This movie is 7 months away not enough for an opinion on whether its good or bad but that hasn’t stopped the internet from giving a complete review based on a vague trailer.

Listen I enjoy making fun of Jared Leto just as much as the next person but can we at least acknowledge that Suicide Squad actually has a really diverse cast (Will Smith, Viola Davis, Adam Beach, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Jay Hernandez, and Karen Fukuhara are all heavily featured, and rapper Common is rumored to be one of the main villains) on top of multiple female leads (Harley Quinn, Enchantress, Katana, Amanda Waller).  

Like can people stop saying they want this movie to bomb because its suddenly the cool thing to hate it, or do ya’ll just want this movie to fail so they can keep making films about three white guys named Chris 🐸☕️
