That’s not a crime. Americans love their country too. It doesn’t mean they like everything the government does. I’m Captain Israel and I don’t like everything the Israeli government does.
Yes Gal Gadot Loves her country and loves the IDF for protecting her people. She has family there, I have family there. G-d bless the IDF for protecting ALL Israelis be they Jewish, Muslim, Druze, Arab, Bahai, etc.
Stop telling people they can’t like her just because she has a different view from you. Having a different opinion isn’t a crime. And in this case, she’s right about Israel, about the IDF.
So get over yourselves.

In 2014, she made a Facebook post in support of Israel, showing herself and her daughter praying. I don’t know why this is just getting attention on Tumblr now; I guess because BvS just came out. She tagged the post with #coexistence but also with #loveidf and #weareright, which has gained her ire from supporters of Palestine. She did state in the post that she stands against Hamas, not Gaza as a whole, with the tag #freegazafromhamas, but I don’t know enough of the nuances of the conflict to say if that’s an appreciable difference for the people who are actually there or who have loved ones in Gaza.
She also served two years in the IDF, which is generally compulsory for Israeli citizens. She was a fitness instructor and never saw combat, but for whatever reason [probably because this is Tumblr] there are posts stating that she’s killed Palestinians and kept tally marks on her rifle of how many people she’s killed.
I’m not going to get into the Israel-Gaza conflict here, but I want to point out that service in the IDF is compulsory in Israel. There are exemptions, but the majority of Israeli people are conscripted. Gadot was also never in direct combat; she was an instructor, so the posts I keep seeing in her tag about the tally marks on her rifle for all the Palestinians she killed is not true.
I’m not saying I agree with her political views. But I don’t think it’s shocking that she prays for and stands with the place where she was raised and where her family lives.
