Nothing to Fear was the first episode of Batman: The Animated Series to feature Bruce Wayne’s past prior to becoming Batman. Throughout the episode Bruce struggles with guilt (brought on by Scarecrow’s fear toxin and a cruel comment from one of Thomas Wayne’s colleagues) over whether his father would be proud of the man he has become. Alfred Pennyworth tells Bruce that his fears are “rubbish,” and that he knew Thomas would undoubtedly be proud of Bruce because Alfred himself is so proud of him.

But it’s not until later in the episode that Bruce conquers his fears when faced with a toxin-induced hallucination of Thomas and utters the iconic quote:

No! You are not my father! I am not a disgrace!
I am vengeance, I am the night, I am Batman!

Oh my god, that snippet about Batdad being awkward around Martha Kent makes me want to see the entire Batfamily invited round the Kents for Christmas or some other family get-together style occasion and Martha just mothering the shit out of the lot of them, her and Alfred cooking the turkey together, her telling off Damian & Jason for fighting again, warning them both they aren't too big to go over her knee, enduring Dick's joke-flirting as he finds Clark's discomfort hilarious, etc. XD

I DONT KNOW WHO YOU ARE BUT I LOVE YOU FOR MAKING ME IMAGINE THIS
