The August issue of Total Film magazine has a big feature on Suicide Squad from their set visit last summer. I just read through the article, and while there’s not a ton of new info, there’s some interesting new details and images inside.
Perhaps the most revealing new piece of info is clarification on what those “creatures” that we see the squad fighting in the trailers are. According to producer Charles Roven, they are a mysterious force known as the Eyes Of The Adversary.
“Let’s just say, when they’re called in to do this mission by Amanda [Waller], these are one of the things they encounter,” Roven explained. “They don’t know how they got here, but they’re weird and dangerous and yet they’re wearing military uniforms.”

what a lovely day to reminder you that the nolanverse is a piece of shit that did nothing for the batman universe except present the general public with an ooc shadow of what batman universe actually is while being infinitesimally racist both on screen and behind it. nolanverse didn’t do shit for ra’s al ghul he had already been established as a powerful villain in the comics and most people who grew up on the animated series knew who he was. they took two of the most interesting, powerful POC villains and warped their origin stories to serve a white audience. bane is a slave who grew up in a prison his whole life in disgusting living conditions and ra’s al ghul is an arab who most likely saw his land being taken away first by white imperialists and then by religious extremists and these are FACTS and would have been incredibly more impactful on an audience, especially a POC audience, than fucking mayofest but i guess not because apparently there weren’t enough white batman villains for them to pick from already. and then you have them turning down zoe kravitz for a role because the movie “wasn’t going urban” which is just so…beyond disrespectful and rude it’s disgusting. how can u not “go urban” when ur making a movie set in one of the most famous fictional cities of all time
anyways nolanverse was a disgrace and so are you
