First of all from the look of it they’re basing her character off of the “Escape from Arkham” Harley whos Quest for independence involved no longer fucking the Joker and fucking Deadshot instead.
Secondly, She is not wearing Hot Pants because “They’re sparkly and fun” She is wearing Hot Pants because some creepy asshole executive decided that Harley Quinn needed to look like a Roller Derby Prostitute and just be there as sex appeal. You cannot keep justifying gross costumes for fictional characters by saying “Well the CHARACTER chose to dress that way because reasons” because no, they didn’t chose jack shit. The artist or the executive or the costume designer did because funnily enough, fictional characters aren’t real people.
Thirdly, if you’re one of the people who thinks that DC comics is halting their 75 year legacy of misogyny because they’re deigning to include women in their films now, you are a fucking moron. Look up some of the shit that DC has done to their female characters and is still DOING to their female characters. I mean for gods sake, Rape is such a fixture of the DCU that their official wiki has a fucking page dedicated to it with the description that it’s the “Go To Crime for Edgier Stories”.
