one-bad-day-one-bad-clown replied to your post : so the killing joke was fucking horrible. even…

I saw it and loved it! I didn’t like the sec scene yeah, or the long beginning before the actual story plot but once it got into the actual story from the comic it followed through really well. What didn’t you like may I ask?

i have a few things that i hated.

- Barbara’s blonde guy friend aka the gay stereotype.
- the sex scene ofc.
- period joke
- then there’s the hooker thing. Joker hiring hookers to have fun?? i’m sorry but that doesn’t sound like Joker at all, especially since Harley exists in this adaptation.
- the animation. for something as important as The Killing Joke it could’ve been better, it looked stiff. i spotted a lot of mistakes, honestly it looked like they didnt care at all.

People who say that Joker and Harley are ‘relationship goals’ or their ship/OTP are a fuckin mess and need their Wi-Fi taken away

lol @ people’s reactions to this. since she was introduced in BTAS Harley has been abused by the Joker and he definitely doesn’t love her, and I didn’t even mention Ivy so their relationship is irrelevant. The people saying I have no background in this mustn’t have watched Mad Love and if they have then….yikes.

nihilant

Or maybe they read more than just Mad Love or New52.

Maybe they read Superman Emperor Joker, where Joker becomes omnipotent and when he is about to destroy the world he kisses her and transforms her into a constellation because he won’t let her die like everyone else.

Maybe they read Joker by Azzarello and Bermejo where they are both very horrible and she is portrayed as the only constant for him.

Maybe they read the Joker and Mask crossover, or the Batman and Spirit crossover, or the Batman and Action Girl crossover, or Batman Thrillkiller, or the Lil Gotham series, where they are portrayed as not abusive.

Maybe they read that story in the No Man’s Land arc where he is so scared to lose her that he completely messes up all his plans just to blow up a henchman that was hitting on her.

Maybe they read that story where Joker goes looking for a missing pet hyena just because Harley won’t stop whining about it.

Maybe they read what the authors of the comic books and animated series have always said, which is that he is madly in love with her but since he is a twisted psychopathic murderous asshole he is unable to handle these feelings and hurts them as a result.

Maybe they read The Clown at Midnight where Joker plans to kill Harley because he loves her and he doesn’t want to have these feelings, because he thinks loving her makes him human.

Maybe in addition to Mad Love they watched Return of the Joker, Wildcards, and World’s Finest.

Maybe they are basing their opinion on the pairing on a wider range of sources.

Maybe.
